Welcome to the Lantra Level 3 Award in Pest Management Services – Trained Professional User

Congratulations on booking your place on the upcoming Lantra Level 3 course.

To help you gain the greatest benefit from your training, we recommend completing the following pre-course foundation reading during the four weeks before your programme begins.

These resources are intended to provide background knowledge and introduce key pest management concepts before you receive the structured online learning materials for:

• Module 1 – Biology and Control of Rodent Pests

• Module 2 – Biology and Control of Other Vertebrate Pests

• Module 3 – Biology and Control of Invertebrate Pests

Completing this foundation reading will help you become familiar with the terminology, principles and practices used throughout the course, enabling you to participate more confidently in the live tutor-led workshops.

The resources have been carefully selected to provide a solid introduction to the subject. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles remain consistent throughout the UK and Ireland, and while some documents may refer to legislation from a different jurisdiction, the underlying principles are applicable to the qualification. Where regional legislative differences exist, these will be explained and discussed during the course.

We encourage you to read the material carefully, make notes, and record any questions you would like to discuss with your tutor during the workshops.

Following this pre-course preparation, you will receive access to the formal guided learning modules. Each module includes structured learning materials that should be completed before attending the associated live workshop. The workshops are designed to consolidate your learning through tutor guidance, discussion, practical scenarios and examination preparation.
